• HASTREA is a 13 year old jumper-bred broodmare, bred by MM Bekkers (NL) and imported as a broodmare to Canada in 2019. She is KWPN Elite, EPTM (SPR) & Prok, meaning that she has earned the highest awards that a mare can earn for herself within this demanding registry. A broodmare of this exceptional quality rarely comes on the market. HASTREA is from the KWPN 121/175 mareline Karin stam, with many international showjumpers in her direct lineage. Inspected in the Netherlands as a three-year old, her scores included 8’s for scope, canter, conformation, rideability and attitude. To date HASTREA has had 5 foals, including pregnancies with frozen semen. HASTREA is being offered due to breeder’s retirement, resulting in a tremendous opportunity for someone who aspires to breed international caliber jumpers. Offspring include MAJSTREA (VANNAN), OPAAL (GLOCK’S LONDON), ROCKETMAN 5Z (BALOUNITO) and SWEET SUZETTE (DIAMANT DE SEMILLY). HASTREA is an excellent mother who produces top-quality foals. SIRE: HASTREA’s sire is DAKAR VDL. DAKAR VDL is the product of two greats in showjumping; the Olympic stallion CAREDENTO and damsire NIMMERDOR, honoured as the “Stallion of the Century”. His dam is NISOLDE (Keur, Preferent, Prestatie). DAKAR VDL competes internationally at 1.50m with James Billington. He has numerous offspring competing at the Grand Prix level. DAMSIRE: HASTREA’s damsire is PADINUS (HEARTBREAKER X GRANNUS) who, despite being lost too soon, sired a tremendous number of international Grand Prix horses and KWPN Approved stallions. HASTREA is confirmed in foal for 2026 to NEW PLEASURE VDL. NEW PLEASURE VDL’s sire FOR PLEASURE and damsire DIAMANT DE SEMILLY are legendary in the world of show jumping. NEW PLEASURE VDL’s dam LADY-A TER PUTTE is the full sister to ELVIS TER PUTTE. In addition to jumping 1.45m herself, she has produced two approved Zangersheide stallions in addition to NEW PLEASURE. NEW PLEASURE VDL is one of the Netherland’s most exciting young stallions. His stallion approval scores are incredible; with 9’s for scope, ridability and showjumping talent. In addition to winning the KWPN Stallion Show Championship in 2024, he has won numerous showjumping competitions, including De Peelbergen, Vragender, Groningen and overall Champion 2023/24 and 2025. As a sire he adds jumping quality, in particular athletic ability, attitude and ridability. NEW PLEASURE VDL and has produced KWPN Champion and Reserve Champion jumper foals, and although he is only 7 years of age, he has already had two offspring selected for 2nd round viewing at the KWPN Stallion Show.
