Velvet is the first foal out of the mare Ronja V, who combines the top-level champion stallion O’Neill van ’t Eigenlo, known as Minute Man (Henrik von Eckermann), with the international 1.40m-level mare Melodie V, ridden by Tessa Delger. Granddam Melodie V is a half-sister to four international showjumpers, including KWPN champion stallion Elion V and the 1.60m-level competing Stetter, ridden by Claudia Gisler. This Dutch damline also produced the international 1.45m-class winner H5 Filemon, ridden by Enrique Gonzalez.
